Martin Roemers established himself as a conceptual photographer after an award-winning career in documentary photojournalism. Currently he works on long term projects centered on the human dimension of profound societal changes. Using custom-tailored photographic approaches, Roemers’s visually arresting renderings of his subject create an opening for personal reflection and interpretation. In his latest project ‘Homo Mobilis’ he explores what a vehicle tells us about culture, society and identity. Roemers has published multiple books and his worldwide exhibited work resides in various major collections of museums, institutions and private collectors world wide. He received two World Press Photo Awards.
