Martin Roemers works on long term projects centered on the human dimension of profound societal changes. In his new project Homo Mobilis he explores what a vehicle tells us about culture, society and identity.
His worldwide exhibited work resides in various collections including Rijksmuseum Amsterdam; The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; The Wende Museum, Los Angeles; MAST, Bologna and The Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles.
Roemers has published multiple monographs including Homo Mobilis (Lannoo Publishers), Metropolis (Hatje Cantz) and Relics of the Cold War (Hatje Cantz).
He received two World Press Photo Awards.
